How to Reach Hunza Valley

You can reach Hunza Valley through these transportation options:

  • Travel through the Karakoram Highway from Islamabad (around 12 hours or more, depending on weather and road conditions)
  • Travel through Babusar Road from Islamabad (Summers Only) (more or less 10 Hours)
  • Take a flight to Gilgit (45 min) from Islamabad airport and travel by road (2 Hours or less)

Thanks to the KKH, which stretches 1,300km from Pakistan’s Punjab province to the Khunjerab Pass in Gilgit-Baltistan, the Hunza Valley is reachable from Islamabad through the KKH. In summer, Babusar Road is the best alternative to take for a road trip to Hunza Valley.

The best way to reach Hunza Valley is to take a flight to Gilgit or Skardu airport, then travel by road to Hunza Valley. Whether you opt to rent a car and drive yourself or take a bus, the Hunza Valley lies just 100km from Gilgit city and takes two hours along the KKH.
