Itinerary

  • Day 1
    Islamabad Arrival
Your Pakistan adventure begins as you fly into Islamabad International Airport. Once your plane touches down in Pakistan’s modern capital city, you’ll be picked up from the airport and taken to your hotel. Settle in and take a breath, then get ready to take in the city sights on an afternoon tour of Islamabad. The country’s capital is clean, organized and sprinkled with more lush vegetation that you might expect. Laid out in an undeniably modern grid-system, Islamabad is full of striking landmarks, like the Pakistan Monument, Margala Hills and Faisal Mosque. Spend your first night taking in this incredible city and relaxing in your hotel.
  • Day 2
    Departure to Chilas
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you’ll hit the road. Get your first taste of the iconic Karakoram Highway as your driver leads the way to Chilas. Sit back and enjoy the incredible scenery outside your window as you pass snow-topped mountains, waterfalls and captivating valleys. Tonight, you’ll get to rest your head in Chilas, a small town on the bank of the Indus River.
  • Day 3
    Departure to Karimabad Hunza
After breakfast, bid farewell to Chilas as you take to the Karakoram Highway once more. Today, you’ll head to Karimabad, the capital of the Hunza district. The drive is a little shorter than yesterdays but just as stunning. When you arrive in Karimabad, there’ll be plenty of time to soak up the breathtaking landscapes that surround the city before spending the night at your hotel.
  • Day 4
Sight Seeing of Popular Hunza Attractions
This morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast then get ready for a full day of adventure. Today, your driver will take you to some of the best places to visit in Hunza Valley: Attabad Lake, Passu Cones and Khunjerab Pass. Attabad Lake is sure to take your breath away, with its perfect blue waters surrounded by rugged mountain peaks. But the lake’s tragic story makes the visit even more intriguing: the lake was in fact formed in 2010 when a landfall buried the village that once existed where the lake is today and blocked the Hunza River. The Passu Cones are a number of mountain peaks in the Karakoram Range, celebrated because of their unusual shape. Their jagged, serrated summits stand silhouetted against the crisp blue sky – the perfect place to take a break and marvel at nature’s beauty. Khunjerab Pass, the last stop of the day, is a beautiful high mountain pass. It was once an integral part of the Silk Road and is still an important pass today, linking the Karakoram Highway in Pakistan to China. After a day of exploring, you’ll head back to Karimabad, where you’ll spend the night once more.
  • Day 5
Sightseeing of Historic Hunza Forts and Experience Sun riser at DuikerVillage
Get ready for a day of sightseeing and fuel up with another delicious breakfast. This morning, you’ll get to enjoy a full-day tour. Take in the cobbled streets and handicrafts for sale along the Karimabad Bazarr, then gaze over Karimabad from the 8th century Baltit Fort. Head to the bottom of the valley and explore the stunning Altit Fort. From there, buckle up and get ready for a 4WD Jeep tour of famous Duiker Village to experience sun rise over Hunza and Nagar valleys . Once you’ve got the lay of the land, it’s time to head to your hotel in Duiker and settle down for the evening.
  • Day 6
Experience Hoper Glacier in Nagar Valley and Depart to Gilgit
After breakfast and sunrise experience, wave goodbye to Duiker and head along the Karakoram Highway to Nagar Valley, 2,438 metres above sea level. You’ll get to explore Hopper Valley, one of the most awe-inspiring valleys in the region, as you take a 4WD jeep up to Hopper Glacier. This afternoon, you’ll continue the drive to Gilgit. When you arrive in the city, immerse yourself in the local culture by visiting the Gilgit Bazaar. As evening draws in, relax, unwind and rest at your Gilgit hotel.
  • Day 7
    Departure to Besham
After breakfast, you’ll leave Gilgit and hit the road. Enjoy a long drive along the Karakoram Highway, drinking in even more of the region’s awe-inspiring views. Get ready for a day of dramatic scenery, with more soaring mountain peaks and sweeping valleys. This evening, you’ll arrive in the town of Besham and settle into your hotel.
  • Day 8
    Back to Islamabad.
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then sit back and take in the views from the Karakoram Highway one last time as your driver takes you back to Islamabad. This evening, in the city where your adventure began just a week earlier, you’ll get to visit Daman-e-Koh and Pirsohawa, two viewpoints that sit hundreds of feet above Islamabad. Here, spectacular views across the city await – the perfect spots to take in Pakistan’s capital city and reflect on your week of life-changing adventures. Enjoy one last evening in the city and spend the night in an Islamabad hotel.
  • Depart from Islamabad
After breakfast, you’ll be taken to the airport in time for your flight home. You’ll be sure to leave with more than you came with – not least, the unforgettable memories of Pakistan’s breathtaking north.
