Gilgit, October 11, 2021-Babusar raod has been closed for an indefinite period after a spell of unprecedented heavy rain and snowfall. The Deputy Commissioner Diamer-Astore division has advised against traveling for tourists entering Babusar road. The pass is completely blocked for all kinds of traffic and rescue teams have been dispatched to bring back stranded tourists.
Furthermore, tourists and locals traveling from Gilgit-Baltistan are advised to use alternative Karakoram Highway and avoid Naran Babusar road.
Babusar is one of the most ethereal routes to travel on. Due to extreme weather in winters, it remains closed from Mid-October to May.
