Islamabad, June 07,2021-Pakistan International Airline-the national flag carrier has announced to launch Air safari between Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan to boost tourism. The inaugural flight will carry passengers from Islamabad to Skardu starting 12th June 2021. The service will operate once a week on Saturday. This service has been named ‘Sadpara Air Safari’ in memorial of the late mountaineer Ali Sadpara who lost his life this year to the deadly K2 winter expedition.

The duration of the flight will be 1 hour and the passengers would have the opportunity to view and fly over the mighty peaks of K2 (8,611m), Nanga Parbat (8,126m), Gasherbrum peaks and the picturesque landscapes of Deosai plains.

According to the PIA dossier, the passengers on landing at the Skardu airport will be served complimentary tea at the famous Shangrilla resort over-viewing lower Kachura Lake. The flight will depart to Islamabad after 2 hours with passengers who are willing to return.
