This 8 day adventure with our tour group will take you to many unexplored places throughout the Skurdu valley. Our journey begins at Islamabad where travelers will explore some iconic places of the capital city. From there onwards you will head to the Land of Gigantic Mountains and glaciers, ancient Forts and tranquil valleys with gushing rivers. The famed Karakoram Highways will lead you to the Skurdu road, sit back and immerse in the scenic landscapes along the way.

Walk through old settlements that provide insight into old glories, trek to enchanting valleys and ride to faraway hidden valleys with towering snowcapped mountains. Whichever part of Skurdu you will be visiting the gigantic mountains of Karakoram will accompany you. Enjoy your time in the skardu valley with idle walks under plane trees and breathe in the unadulterated fresh air. Learn the history and culture of the locals through imposing museums.

Child Policy

     Children aged 4 years and under go free if staying in parent’s bed. Where required, breakfasts will be charged directly by the hotel.

     Children between the ages of 5 and 10 years will be supplied with an extra mattress where required and breakfasts will be charged directly by the hotel.

     Children over the age of 10 years will be classed as an adult and charged at full price. They’ll have their own room in hotels and their own seat during transportation.

Itinerary

  • Day 1
    Arrival at Islamabad Airport and transfer to Hotel
    On arrival to Islamabad, travelers will be taken to their designated hotel. On the same day after some rest, you can explore the beautiful city of Islamabad for a while. Hike to Margalla hills, visit Pakistan monument or indulge in some amazing food the city has to offer in some of the best eateries.
  • Day 2
    Islamabad – Chilas
    Buckle in for a long memorable drive on the famous Karakoram Highway. The journey starts at the Hazara Motorway in Islamabad-a 180km long road that connects cities of Punjab with KPK along the KKH. Immerse in the green crop fields of Punjab and forest covered hill of KPK until you reach Chilas where you will come across the towering mountains of Karakoram Range for the first time. Chilas will be your first stop where you will stay.
  • Day 3
    Chilas – Skardu
    After breakfast, bid farewell to Chilas as you take to the Karakoram Highway once more. Today, you’ll head to Skurdu city. This road is lengthy yet equally breathtaking. Due to reconstruction and repair work going on the road you will be delayed in some parts. On arriving the city rest for the night and immerse in the beauty of wide valley with its high mountains and gushing river.
  • Day 4
    Shigar
    On the first day in Skardu, you will head to Shangrila resort, enjoy some boating and hiking. Later travel to Kachura Lake –one of the pristine lakes with its aquamarine waters. Drive through cold desert to Shigar valley and have experience of ancient Shigar fort. Back to Skurdu city and hike to Kharpocho Fort- build on a mountain slope and immerse in the landscape of the city from there. Rest for the night to replenish.
  • Day 5
    Ghanche District – Khapulu Fort
    Get ready for another day of sightseeing and adventure. Travel to Ghanche district-a historic district with rich history and deep values. You will reach Khaplu valley where you will visit the historic fort of Khaplu-a UNESCO heritage site Museum cum luxury Hotel. Afterwards, immerse in some architectural wonders by heading to Chaqchan Mosque-build in 1370 AD. Walk through old market and stock up on some organic dry fruits and herbs. Later drive to Kharmang district and trek through narrow villages and meet locals. Head back to Skurdu city of the night’s rest.
  • Day 6
    Deosai Plateau – Sadpara Lake-Rama Astore
    After breakfast, travel to Sadpara Lake-Dam and enjoy some boating. Breathe in the serenity of the mesmerizing lake with its tiny island in the middle. Later head to Astore Rama in 4WD Jeep via Deosai Plateau. 4,112m above sea level, Deosai National Park stretches across over a thousand square miles of remote wilderness. Lunch at the plateau among incredible Biodiversity. Reach Rama (Astore) at night. Overnight at designated hotel in Rama Astore.
  • Day 7
    Rama Astore – Besham
    After breakfast, you’ll say goodbye to Astore valley and hit the road. Enjoy a long drive along Karakoram Highway, immerse in some of the jaw dropping panoramas and unbelievable twists and turns. Soak in the never ending mountain peaks. This evening, you’ll arrive in the town of Besham and settle into your designated hotel.
  • Day 8
    Besham – Islamabad
    After a night’s rest will again hit the road. Absorb the wonderful vistas one last time before arrival to Islamabad. Make the best of your last day in Pakistan and head to local market places, trek to Margalla hills and enjoy some scrumptious food at the local cafes. Explore local heritage sites, such as Saidpur village and local versa to familiarize with Pakistani culture. Or head to Lakeview Park and enjoy some boating.
  • Day 9
    Depart from Islamabad
    After breakfast, you’ll be taken to the airport in time for your flight home. Take with you the many beautiful memories of the places you visited and the people you meet.

How many people will be on the tour?
We have a maximum number of 15 people per tour.
I’m travelling alone. Will I be charged a single supplement?
What kind of ground transportation will we be using?
he exact type of vehicle will vary depending on how many guests join the tour and the terrain we’re covering. All our vehicles are comfortable and mostly air-conditioned, ranging from 4 wheel drive Jeeps to a Toyota Coaster Saloon bus.
Can I book an extra night before and/or after the tour?

Can I alter the itinerary?
es. If you want to stay a little longer in certain places, the tour operator will endeavour to make the arrangements. Similarly, if you decide you’d like to change the itinerary partway through the tour, let the tour operator know and, where possible, this will be arranged for you. In this case, however, you may be charged a cancellation fee for any hotel or motel stays cancelled.
What language will the tour guide speak?
Most of our tour guides speak fluent English. If you require another language, let us know before booking the tour and we’ll do our best to arrange this. In this case, other charges may apply.
What standard is the accommodation?
The Gilgit-Baltistan region doesn’t operate a star rating system for hotels. Instead, they’re classified as category A, B and C. Hotels in category A are of the best quality as compared to others, those in category B are mid-level and those in category C are of a basic standard. With this tour, you’ll be staying in category B hotels, which means you'll be staying in mid-level hotels and motels in the Gilgit-Baltistan area.
Will I be able to access the internet and mobile signal?
Sometimes. There is internet and mobile coverage in many places in Pakistan, however there are also some areas that have little to no coverage.
